19 Years Old Okon Driving A Fully Tinted Vehicle Without Number Plates Knocked Down 3 Officers —FPRO




The Nigeria Police Force has condemned what it termed a dangerous and irresponsible act by a 19-year-old driver who allegedly injured police officers and damaged several vehicles while attempting to escape arrest in Lagos.

In a statement posted on X on Friday, January 16, 2026, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, provided details of the incident, which occurred the previous day during a routine patrol. According to the police, the suspect, identified as Nsikak Okon, was driving a Mercedes-Benz GLK with darkly tinted windows and no visible number plates when officers first spotted the vehicle.

Hundeyin said the driver initially sped past the patrol team in a suspicious manner. Instead of complying when approached, he reportedly returned to the area multiple times, each time driving more aggressively. During one of the passes, he narrowly missed hitting an officer. Shortly afterward, he allegedly drove back at high speed and struck three officers who were on duty.

The injured officers were rushed to a medical facility for treatment. Two have since been discharged, while the third remains hospitalized and is receiving care.

Despite the incident, the suspect allegedly continued his attempt to flee, colliding with several vehicles and causing damage to both public and private property. His escape was eventually halted through the combined efforts of police officers and members of the public, leading to his arrest.

Following his apprehension, a search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered substances suspected to be hard drugs. Reacting to the incident, Hundeyin described the suspect’s conduct as a blatant disregard for human life and the law, stressing that the matter would be fully investigated and prosecuted accordingly.
